IMPACT HAITI MISSIONS TRIP (August 6th-13th 2015)

We are excited about this year’s trip to Haiti. We will be taking a flight from Newark into Port Au Prince via a connecting flight in Atlanta on August 6th and return on August 13th. We are glad to support the Cross to Light Ministry and Pastor Brian McDaniel. We will be staying at the Cross to Light Ministry Facility, supporting the missionary school, focusing on tent city outreach, orphanages, service projects, and reaching the local community with the good news of Jesus!

 

Haiti TRIP DETAILS: The cost for the trip is *$1,099

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER: (Please hand ALL payments directly to Alan Kahn)

  • Support Letter Mailing: Now! You need to get these letters in the mail as soon as you know you are going.
  • Passports: Please do not wait to get/renew your passport. We HAVE had students unable to attend a mission trip because they did not check the expiration date. Also please research the “expedited processing” options that you can pay for.
  • First Informational Meeting: Sunday, March 29th – 12:15pm in the upstairs chapel room at CCOB.
    Come get all your questions answered.
  • Application & Deposit Due: Friday, April 10th – Please complete the application form, parental consent/medical release affidavit and hand in a $100 deposit TO ALAN KAHN ONLY.

Write the check out to “CCOB” and earmark the memo “Impact Haiti Missions Trip”.

Required Training Meeting: Sunday, April 19th –12:15pm (in the upstairs chapel room). Please change your schedule so that you can be at this meeting. It is mandatory so that the team can meet each other. We’ll be letting you know about future training meetings after you sign up.

  • First Payment: Friday, May 22nd – $300 is due this day. (You will have paid $400 so far)
  • Second Payment Due: Friday, June 19th – $300 is due this day. (You will have paid $700 so far)
  • Final Payment Due: Friday, July 24th – Remaining $399 balance is due this day in full. (You will have paid $1,099)
  • Packing Party: Wednesday, August 5th – 5pm – 6:30pm. We’ll meet in the foyer of CCOB to weigh our bags and pack them into the van so that we don’t have to do this early Saturday morning. Bring everything you are checking and bring your passports also please. You can keep your carry on with you (backpack/purse).
  • Departure: Thursday, August 6th – Meet at CCOB at 4:30am (yay!) Our United flight takes off from Newark at 7:59am (DL930/DL685) and lands in PAP at 2:21pm. There is one connecting flight in Atlanta. We return on the 13th on a 3:25pm (DL684/2415) flight that lands in Newark at 11:59pm. We’ll be back at the church at 1:30am (yay!).

 

TRAINING DATES: These meetings are super important and they are mandatory
I would recommend sitting in to listen to 2nd service and staying for the meeting afterwards.

  • Sunday, July 5th At a team member’s house TBA (5pm to 8pm)
  • Wednesday, August 5th @ 5:00pm – 6:30pm (PACKING PIZZA PARTY – The Foyer Near The Info Counter)
    You will bring your luggage so that we can load the vans, supplies, etc. You are only allowed 1 checked bag.

We encourage everyone to bring a carry-on bag so we can try to check just 1 bag that will fit all of our liquids so that we will save 60 bucks a person.
You do not have to bring your “carry on” bag to this meeting, only your checked luggage. Visit TSA.gov…
