Ukraine Hungary Day 9&10

Ukraine Hungary Day 9

After a long week in Zhdeniievo (The town where the summer camp was hosted) and yesterday’s baptisms and goodbyes. We were able to settle into our new sleeping quarters. The girls are staying at the Tuckers’ house, and the boys at Calvary Chapel Living Waters.

This morning, the girls slept in and, upon waking up, were greeted by the family's 5 dogs. The boys also took the extra time to sleep in, and once they got ready for the day, they headed out to explore the city of Mukachevo. For lunch, we reconvened at a local croissant cafe and prepared for our afternoon of ministry.

Today was the park outreach day. What Joel and his team had planned out was big, and we had the team to fill the need. The event in the park would include a free lemonade stand, multiple teams of musicians playing, and other things to draw attention.

Preceding the big event, the kids who had finished practicing their songs went and invited parkgoers to the concert to be held later that afternoon.

Meanwhile, the other students who weren’t practicing or inviting were assembling the tent that would cover the musicians and their audience from the elements. The team had many opportunities to connect with the locals, many of which ended up already being Christian!

This event proved to be an unexpected challenge for our team. Within the day, they were able to group into teams, create set lists to sing, practice, work through harmonies, and by faith, walk in obedience. Had the courage to stand up and worship God before many people. Both Ukrainian and American!

To end the day, we took the team on a night tour of the Palanok Castle, which is a 10th-century castle that has been repaired and updated over the years.

Not too much to say about our last day in Mukachevo. We took advantage of all these more "chill days" by sleeping in plenty! Today is souvenir day! The day started at 12:30 PM, where we, of course we went to McDonald's like good Americans. Afterwards, we went to several souvenir shops.

After our shopping spree, we headed to the city center to walk around and go to all the stores. To no one's surprise, the kids wanted to go to the candy store and coffee shop. After going to a few stores, taking some photos, we headed back ot the same park a yesterday and began evangelizing to random groups of kids. Thankfully, we had several interpreters with us, which allowe dus ot properly explain the gospel in the language.

After the evening, we ended our ministry with a dinner at Pasot Joel's house. There, Joel and his team were able to express their gratitude towards us and our team. It was a great way to end our ministry in Ukraine and spend time with those we have created bonds with. After this, we headed to the bus station to grab our overnight bus to Budapest (which we are writing this on right now). Pray for our safe travels!
