Day 6 of camp started just like the past few days at 7 am. Our girls led us in worship, which has been such a sweet way to start each morning. After worship, we took some time to have a meeting with just our team. We had a time of personal prayer to the Lord. Asking the Lord to give us wisdom with words, strength for the day, and boldness with the teens. We then spent time praying over each other for the day. A much-needed time for us as a group.

The big adventure today was traveling together to an old Hungarian bunker. It was a unique experience that everyone loved. As you can see from the photos below, the kids got into it. It also gave our teens more opportunities to connect with the Ukrainian students.

One thing we have yet to highlight is the food! The food has been great, and we have tried so many different kinds of food that we have never been exposed to before.

In our morning meeting, we encouraged our kids not to waste the time we have left. We have only three days left with these Ukrainian teens, and we want to ensure they leave with a clear understanding of the gospel. With that encouragement, so many of the kids had conversations about Jesus today with the teens. Please be praying that every conversation and every moment points them closer to Christ!

I asked some of our students what they have found to be the most rewarding and most difficult aspects of the trip

ree

Josh Tursi:

"The most rewarding part of the trip so far is making connections across languages. Just being able to get a word in Ukrainian correct, or for a Ukrainian to get a word in English correct. It helps build our bonds closer together."

"The most difficult part has been the fact that we don't speak the same language. It has been difficult to go deep into conversation about Christ, but we still find a way!"

Sarah Blondo:

"The most rewarding part has been bonding with the Ukrainian refugees. For example, there are some kids in my group who hug me, even though we don’t talk that much because of the language barrier, and there are other kids who I get to play Uno with, or we just get to"

"The most challenging part has been the days being nonstop and just go go go and even though it’s tiring and a little rough at times, it’s more rewarding than challenging."

Be in prayer as we enter into our last regular day of camp tomorrow! On Sunday, we all leave the campsite and head to Calvary Chapel Living Waters in Mukachevo for Sunday service with all the kids.
